Barnsley Women (26-09-2024)

Barnsley Women 1 - 2 Notts County Women (FA Women's National League, Division 1 Midlands)

An evenly-fought and engrossing contest, won by a tenacious Notts County response (after a brilliant free kick opener for Barnsley). This was at Sheffield's Olympic Legacy Park, which has developed a lot since my last visit (Feb 2019). 

This was also one of the last weekday women's matches until February so good to get this in early. I've had a steady September - 3 matches in 4 weeks. Hopefully I can keep this rate up as the wet and cold weather of Autumn descends.

Handsworth (20-09-2024)

Handsworth U21 5 - 2 Bradford PA U21 (FA Youth Cup 1st Qualifying Round), Friday 20 September 2024

A game which started with a quickfire goal from each team but swung the way of Handsworth after persistent pressure. Bradford had their chances at 4-2 down but couldn't make the pressure pay. The home side took control when Bradford were reduced to 10 men.

Staveley (04-09-2024)

Staveley U18 5 - 2 Goole U18 (FA Youth Cup), Wednesday 4 September 2024

On a surprisingly chilly evening, I saw a thriller in my first FA Youth Cup match as Staveley twice came from behind. The highlight was the brilliant long range curler to make it 2-2 and kickstart Staveley's comeback. All for £2 entry!
